Curriculum

At Warracknabeal Special Developmental School, students experience a secure and supportive place to learn to the best of their ability. We adapt the Victorian Curriculum F-10 to plan meaningful, relevant and engaging learning experiences. The Victorian Curriculum F–10 sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is the common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship.

Our teaching is always responsive to the specific needs of the students in each class, with teachers carefully taking into account the requirements, interests and abilities of the students when planning learning experiences.

Each student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which is developed in partnership with parents/caregivers and the school. The IEP allows us to set priority goals for each student and these goals are then planned for, implemented and reviewed throughout the year. Program Support Group (PSG) meetings are held each semester.
